If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
What is your definition of success?
Success, to me, is being able to live a life where every night, as you go to bed and look around, you recognize that what you once wished and worked for has finally become your reality. That feeling of contentment, the rush of happy hormones as you snug under the warmth of your favourite blanket—that’s what success is!
What role has failure played in your journey to success?
There is no such thing as failure—it only happens when you give up on yourself. As the proverb goes, ‘Man ke hare haar, man ke jeete jeet’ (Defeat or victory is determined by the mind). It’s always about self-confidence. You cannot fail until you stop trying.
I have faced moments of doubt when I lost hope and confidence. But just like Arjuna in the Mahabharata, I was guided back to my purpose, realizing that God is the supreme power. When God is on your side, nothing is too big or too difficult. Just do your karma and leave the rest to Him. With this simple realization, miracles became a part of my life.
How did you overcome challenges or setbacks along the way?
I see challenges as tests that bring beautiful rewards in life. We live in two worlds—the external and the internal. Any turbulence in the external world can shake the internal world as well. I always strive to keep my inner world at peace, detaching from external chaos until the storm passes or I am prepared to face it. I turn to prayer, painting, journaling, singing, reading, and dancing—because nothing is worth losing inner peace.
What are your thoughts on work-life balance?
As a resident doctor, work-life balance is quite demanding! However, it is essential to establish a relaxing morning and night routine. The ability to spend quality time with family and friends is one of life’s greatest luxuries. Earning a good income and having the time to enjoy it—buying things you like and sharing them with loved ones and those in need—that, to me, is the perfect example of work-life balance.
