Recently, the Parliament Passed 128th constitution amendment bill which is related to women reservation- Nari shakti Vandhan Adhiniyam. After a long struggle for 27years , it is a huge victory for all the women.
The pros over here are women will get empowered and have their participation in parliament which is as low as 14.1% in India according to UNO. This bill increases participation and may lead the society towards the development.
But the greatest discomfort over here is this bill gets enacted only after the delimitation process has taken place. And this process will happen after 2026 and this bill may get into force from 2029.
As there are cultural roots of patriarchy over here in India ,it’s a difficult task for women to come into parliaments and it may even turn out like pathi panchayat. Hope there creates awareness in women before the bill gets into force which may further lead women towards empowered development.
